A narrow alley that stretches quite a long distance, with both sides lined with small shops that sells all sorts of items, including food stalls scattered here and there. Price are usually cheap. A must-come to place to immerse the local atmosphere. Note that the place can warm and stuffy. If you are lucky, you might pass by some cooling air from those stalls that are air-con. Beside being narrow and crowded, you will encounter motorbike snaking thru now and then….

Park at Temple nearby and walk thru gate will see the market.
So crowned every night.
Some shops receive only cash. Some accept QR payment.
Hot weather brings some electric fan along.
Toilet at temple use 5 bth coin.
There is some street food in there too.
Ka Ping Man
This is one of my favourite places to go to in Bangkok. It’s a rustic place but full of charm in is own way. There are plenty of market stalls to buy food, fruits, veggies, snacks and try some local Thai foods. You can buy toys and souvenirs easily and of course the Chinese restaurants are great here too. It’s a great spot to walk around with family and friends.
Basile d'Hauthuille
If you’re exploring Bangkok and want to get off the beaten path, head to Sampeng Market on Vanich Road. It’s like a massive, endless médina where you can find absolutely everything. It’s way less touristy and significantly cheaper than Chatuchak (I got 3 Thai pants for 200 bahts). The atmosphere is local, the people are lovely, and it’s a great place to shop without the crowds. Highly recommended!
Cucumber
Sampheng Market is a great place to shop if you’re looking for affordable items in Bangkok. It reminds me a lot of traditional markets in Jakarta, with a wide variety of products like accessories, clothes, toys, and many more.
Prices here are very cheap, especially compared to tourist areas like Silom. If you’re visiting during Songkran, this is the perfect place to buy water guns — much more affordable than in other locations.
Besides shopping, there are also plenty of delicious street food options around the market. One of my favorites was the tom yum — really flavorful and worth trying!
Overall, it’s a must-visit spot for budget shopping and local food experience in Bangkok.
